At the Law Faculty building of Sifono University…
Starting ARLB feels fresh, and it’s a new semester too. Let’s see, the Flying Cars Seminar is in room 28, right?
Good day, everyone! I’m Maxime Zhou.
What a bright smile the professor has.
In this seminar, as you all know, we’ll explore the legal aspects of the implementation of flying cars for general use. Here, we don’t just learn the law; we also learn to think like those who pioneer its creation.
But first, I’d like to talk a bit about Professor LUV, Lucy Ultraviolet, who passed away recently. Many of you might know her – she was quite famous.
Of course I know her. She’s a big reason why I came to Sifono. The initiator of the “Questioning Movement,” and let’s not forget, her eccentric fashion sense! She was even dubbed “the populist jester” by her critics…
I’m proud to say, I once attended her classes as a student.
Wow!
Hans notices a familiar face among the students across the room.
Is that… Jura over there?
LUV has always been a unique individual, even back in my student days!
You might know her for the “Questioning Movement,” but have you read her books? She narrowed her public advocacy to just “questioning” to involve diverse people, but in reality, she researched and wrote about much more. “Fluidity in Law” is recommended even for beginners. Understanding the philosophy, ethics, social, and cultural backgrounds behind laws makes it more exciting.
Remember, you’re here to absorb a variety of ideas, but also to think deeply on your own. Sifono’s motto is “Knowledge and Imagination.” Be like Professor LUV – always inquiring and exploring. Now, let’s remember her a bit.
Alright, let’s shift gears. Since most of us are meeting for the first time, let’s do introductions.
I’m Jura Kwon, like the juror – here to elevate our discussions and make lasting friendships!
It’s definitely Jura. Haven’t seen her in a while. And there she goes with her usual intro.
Next, you with the pink hair!
Ah, yes! I’m Hans Franzen. I love new things, so there was no way I wouldn’t join this seminar. Nice to meet you.
I’m nervous… no, not nervous. I’m here because “it’s intriguing.”
?!
Huh, why is Jura looking at me so surprised?
After class…
Hans?!
What happened to you? Pink and purple hair, and it’s shorter! I didn’t even recognize you until you said your name! Wow, it’s super cute! You used to have such a simple look. What brought this change?
Hey, didn’t expect to be in the same seminar with you. You know, just wanted a new vibe.
What! Tell me more! Did you start something new?
Uh! Why are you so surprised?
Sorry, just shocked by the change. I meant it’s lovely!
That’s nice to hear.
Oh, and I’ve been meaning to thank you, Jura. Remember the Dance Crews tryout during the club orientation week after we enrolled?
Note: Sifono’s Dance Crews, the third-largest dance club at Sifono University.
Did I do something?
I was overwhelmed by the crowd, but you pulled me around the venue. Thanks to you, I’m still part of it. You didn’t join in the end, so I never got to thank you.
That’s great! How’s it now?
Fun. Fewer people than before, more relaxed. What about you and clubs?
I’m in the music club Cadenza!
Cadenza? Never heard of it. Thought you’d join something bigger.
Well, you need free time for new encounters, right? Busy with nightclubs and events every day! Gotta keep the university clubs light.
That sounds just like you.
But today’s rare! Got practice with Cadenza. Looking forward to our seminar!
Yeah, same here. See you.
Extra (On a different day):
Is your name Jura really from ‘juror’?
I only use that intro at university to sound law-related! Actually, my mom’s a huge fan of “Jurassic” Park.
Really!? That’s unexpectedly cool.
